Mariana Ruvalcaba Cruz is a Mexican-born interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, ceramics, printmaking, and photography. Her practice explores themes of transformation, displacement, and the ongoing journey of self-discovery. Influenced by folk art, personal symbolism, Surrealism, and Magical Realism, she creates works that blur the line between the invisible and reality by merging the human body with natural and organic forms. Through this process, she captures both the physical and emotional dimensions of transformation, liminality, and the complexities of identity.

She received her BFA in sculpture and a psychology minor at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, and her MFA at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi, where she currently works as an educator. Her work has been displayed across the US in several regional and national exhibitions.
