Mariana Ruvalcaba Cruz is a Mexican-born interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, ceramics, printmaking, and photography. Her practice explores themes of transformation, displacement, and the ongoing journey of self-discovery. Influenced by folk art, personal symbolism, Surrealism, and Magical Realism, she creates works that blur the line between reality and imagination by merging the human body with natural and organic forms. Through this process, she captures both the physical and emotional dimensions of change, exile, and liminality.

She received her BFA in sculpture and a psychology minor at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas and her MFA at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. Her work has been displayed across the US in several regional and national exhibitions.
